1–25 of May 2022. Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry, Institute of Forestry, Forest Plant Biotechnology Laboratory PhD student Ieva Lučinskaitė attended internship at Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO). This internship was funded by Nordic Forest Research (SNS) project (No. 131) that topic is: PROTECT: Effects of defence priming on Norway spruce needle microbiome and pest resistance.

Main aim of this short internship was to affect tree seeds with chemical compounds, in order to increase Norway spruce resistance for pests. It was performed seeds treatment with methyl-jasmonate, β-aminobutyric (BABA), pipecolinic and hexanoic acids. Moreover, it was performed biologically compounds analysis (secondary metabolites) and the seeds were planted in different types of soils (sterile, inoculated with Mycorrhiza fungal, and forest).
