LAMMC conducts breeding programmes for the major field crops, vegetables, pomefruits, stonefruits and berries.
A total of 146 varieties of agricultural plants developed at the LAMMC are currently included in the Lithuanian National List of Plant Varieties and the EU Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant and Vegetable Species.
A total of 6 new varieties of agricultural plants and vegetables were included in the Lithuanian National List of Plant Varieties 2026:
- birdsfoot trefoil varieties Kamanitai and VB Gelsvis,
- tufted hairgrass variety Gauja,
- dwarf bean variety Suduva,
- tomato variety Arvida,
- ornamental apple variety Vijolė.
A total of 4 new varieties of agricultural plants and vegetables were included in the Lithuanian National List of Plant Varieties 2025:
- spring wheat ‘Baltika DS’,
- small naked oat ‘Vainius DS’,
- gherkin ‘Kaunita’,
- big onion ‘Rausviai’.
