On October 21, Dr. Paulina Štreimikytė, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Technology, Institute of Horticulture, LAMMC, participated in the first meeting of the Management Committee of the COST Action CA24132 held in Brussels, Belgium. This COST Action brought together scientists and industry representatives from 31 countries working in the field of microbial foods.
Microbial food refers to food fermented using bacterial and fungal cultures, the safe and high-quality supply of which to the market still poses a challenge.
During the meeting, the Lithuanian representatives, including dr. Paulina Štreimikytė, were elected to ensure the implementation of the Working Group 4, which focuses on the development and international application of microbial food analyses related to safety and quality.
